The Baylor coaches have spent a considerable amount of time at Port Arthur (Texas) Memorial high school over the past few years recruiting 2016 running back signee Kameron Martin, and now the coaches are targeting another one of the Titans in 2017.

Rivals250 corner Kary Vincent received an offer from the Baylor coaches this past October and is already building a strong relationship with the staff.

"I have been talking with Coach (Carlton) Buckels since the beginning of last year, it's been a long time now," Vincent said. "I knew that Baylor was really interested and it was great to finally get that offer. Kam (Martin) always told me the coaches were going to offer and he is constantly telling me to join him at Baylor, he's like my big brother."

Vincent recently visited Baylor for the program's first junior day of the year on Jan. 30th, his second visit to see the program.

"I just visited for the junior day," Vincent said. "It was a great time, I had been to the campus once before and had already seen a lot of the facilities, but it was nice to spend time around the coaches again. Coach (Art) Briles and I spent some time together, he's a great man and we have a really good relationship.

"I can honestly say that Coach Briles is also one of the funniest coaches out there too. The fact that he and his coaching staff have won 50 games over the past five seasons is incredible, not very many programs can do something like that and I like the direction they are headed at Baylor."

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound corner is already off to a busy start on the recruiting trail in the new year. This past week alone, Vincent has received offers from Arkansas, Missouri, and Ole Miss. He now holds 10 offers and believes even more are on the way.

"At first the recruiting process was a little overwhelming, but I consider myself a student of the game and treated this process with the same approach," Vincent said. "Things have been busy lately and I believe both Florida and Alabama are close to offering me as well. I have just tried to learn as much as possible about each program that offers me, and my ultimate goal will be to try and visit each program that offers me.

"I don't have any other visits setup right now, but that is something I'm going to start looking at once the summer comes around. I will attend the Rivals Camp in New Orleans and the Nike Camp here in Houston, then possibly take a visit or two later this spring."

Rated a four-star prospect, Vincent is the No. 25 overall corner in the nation, the No. 242 prospect on the latest Rivals250 national rankings, and the No. 32 prospect on the Rivals.com Texas Postseason Top 100 for the 2017 class.
